The Lanzarote Terminal Area was expanded because of the need to increase capacity to receive inter-island flights, and so 11 new check-in desks, 4 boarding gates, a new flight preparation carousel and a baggage reclaim hall were created, apart from a number of other small interventions.
This expansion and refurbishment included a comprehensive review and updating of all the building facilities, and the rearrangement of the landscaping in the connection area between the terminals and car parks.
